Kathy (Zawacki) Anderson

Katherine Anderson, 49, formerly of South St. Paul,  died Sunday, April 22, 2001, in her home in Esko, after a lengthy struggle with cancer. She was born in Superior to Edmond and Lillian Anderson. Katherine graduated from South St. Paul High School, and received her teaching certificate from the College of St. Scholastica. She also graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth. While there, she was a member of the Delta Chi Omega sorority. She taught at many area schools, including Denfeld, Morgan Park, Barnum, Meadowlands and Duluth Central.

Katherine was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Esko. Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Edmond. Survivors include her husband, Steve of Esko; a son, Nathan; her mother, Lillian of SSPl; a brother, Richard (Karen) Zawacki of Eden Prairie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Diane "DiDi" (Gilbert) Appleton

June 8, 1951-November 28, 2018. Diane passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at age 67. Diane was preceded in death by her father, John Gilbert; mother, Corabelle; and sister, Joni. She will be Forever remembered by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Cori (Ben); grandchildren, Avery, Emma, Ian, and Carter; nieces, Tami (Sean) and Toni (Sean); stepchildren, Kelli, Holly (Andrew) and Danny; and step-grandchildren, Asher and Micah.

Diane was an extraordinary human, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend. Her laugh was contagious, and she had an infectious smile that instantly made you smile back. An amazing athlete, Diane was a beautiful dancer, avid marathon runner, loved to bike and run, played tennis and racquetball.

A Celebration of DiDi's life will be held at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street, Saint Paul, on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018.
